IHA members now have access to new state-wide Indiana Resource Pool – powered by the Indiana Hospital Association and Matchwell

The Indiana Resource Pool, powered by IHA and Matchwell, is the first of its kind in the country. To address the high costs and challenges associated with the traditional agency model, this new partnership is designed to provide IHA members with an alternative way to access and engage a local, flexible workforce.

This innovative partnership will allow hospital members the opportunity to showcase their job openings directly in front of a pool of qualified Indiana licensed clinicians with the end goal of filling open shifts and contract work without an agency involved.

Highlights of this new offering include:
  • The program is voluntary, and Matchwell will connect with hospital members directly to register.
  • Matchwell is embarking on a multi-year, omni-channel marketing campaign to encourage clinicians interested in per diem or contract work on behalf of IHA members. The more jobs available, the easier it will be to engage clinicians.
  • With AI-empowered matchmaking, online timecards, evaluations, and much more, this platform is designed to “uberize” existing workforce to fill more shifts or contract work with vetted, local clinicians with the press of a button.
  • IHA members will see every qualified clinician within the Matchwell platform alongside their jobs. Members can engage with the clinicians right on the platform, and book and manage any shifts or contract assignments right there.
  • The only decision that hospital members will have to make is if you’re hiring clinicians onto your payroll or if you want Matchwell to supply W2 employment of record for you—either way, this program makes it easy to bypass going through an agency for clinicians within Indiana. On top of that, this initiative is designed to save IHA members money.
  • This technology is ISO security certified with single sign-on capabilities with Open API to integrate with existing systems. Everything is kept private and secure to keep your information safe.

Rob Crowe, Executive VP of Per Diem and Local Workforce Strategies at Medical Solutions and Founder of Matchwell, emphasizes that flexibility in health care staffing is no longer a trend but a necessity, driven by clinician demand for more control over schedules and the industry's ongoing staffing shortages. Health care organizations must embrace innovative workforce strategies, such as shorter shifts, internal float pools, and real-time scheduling platforms, to adapt to fluctuating patient volumes and reduce burnout. Crowe asserts that adopting flexible staffing models is key for retaining top talent and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in a sustainable way.
