Indiana 211 is a division of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and is a free and confidential service that connects all Hoosiers to health and human service resources in their local community. There are no eligibility requirements, income standards or rules; anyone can call 2-1-1.

There are 3 easy ways to access Indiana 211:

  1. Call 2-1-1 or 1-866-211-9966
  2. Text zip code to 898-211
  3. Visit in211.org to search for resources

The Indiana 211 resource database contains thousands of services, covering all 92 counties in Indiana. Housing, utility assistance, and food are the greatest needs, but Indiana 211 can also provide referrals for case management, home repairs, legal aid, health care, health insurance, income support, transportation, clothing, personal or household needs, information services, mental health resources, substance use disorder treatment, employment assistance, disaster services, domestic violence resources, childcare, and more.

The Indiana 211 database is maintained and updated by the Resource Curation Team, and each agency record is updated at le​ast once each year. Agencies that are interested in listing their services in the Indiana 211 database can visit in211.org to review the Inclusion Policy and complete an Inclusion Request Form. Agencies with services already listed in the database can visit in211.org to search for their record and complete an Update Form if any changes are needed.

Community agencies and service providers can also visit in211.org to access various tools to better assist clients or promote Indiana 211 in their community.

  • The Resource Guided Search on the home page can help service providers gather a list of resources for clients or patients.
  • The Community Events Calendar lists events throughout the state offering free assistance or resources.
  • The Data Dashboard presents data from Indiana 211 calls that allows community agencies to learn about trends in their community.
  • The Data Requests page explains how to request data not found on the dashboard.
  • The Request a Speaker form allows agencies to request that Indiana 211 speak to their organization or provide a resource table at an event.
  • The Marketing Materials page gives agencies the option to either print promotional materials or request that they be mailed to them so they can better promote Indiana 211.​
