Patient Safety Partner Award

The Patient Safety Partner Award recognizes an individual, group, or program that excels at establishing and growing partnerships between health care providers to improve quality of care. Each year the Indiana Patient Safety Center chooses a partner that exemplifies these attributes to receive the award.

PAST WINNERS:

  • 2016  -  James Fuller and the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety
    • The  willingness to always share best practices of the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety (ICPS) from the coalition and James (Jim) Fuller   is extremely  helpful to statewide efforts in making Indiana the safest state to receive health care.  Jim demonstrates an absolute commitment to improving patient safety in Indiana through his leadership of the ICPS and his work with other groups.  He has facilitated numerous ICPS initiatives that have improved safety and transitions of care for patients and willingly shared many examples.  Through his work, Jim serves as a role model for collaboration across the state as he exemplifies the belief that patient safety has no boundaries and is no place for competition.
  • 2017 - The Health Research & Educational Trust
    • Founded in 1944, the Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET) is the non-for-profit research and education affiliate of the American Hospital Association (AHA). HRET’s vision is to leverage research and education to create a society of healthy communities where all individuals reach their highest potential for health. Through a partnership with IHA, Indiana hospitals have gained access to tremendous resources provided by HRET. For example, HRET allows IHA to assess and improve measurements recorded in the compressive data systems (CDS) in order to better the quality of care for Indiana hospitals.
