IHA’s Partners in Patient Safety
Ensuring patient safety takes a village. That’s why IHA has enlisted the help of Indiana’s top health care professionals. Through the Council on Quality and Patient Safety and 11 regional patient safety coalitions, IHA and member hospitals are sharing resources and collaborating to keep Hoosier patients safe.
Comprised of CEOs, CMOs, CNEs, patient safety officers, quality professionals, infection control practitioners and members of governing boards interested in safety. This council meets quarterly and provides guidance on everything from IHA’s patient safety activities to developing positions on federal and state quality improvement initiatives.
Coalitions meet to share challenges and successes, while also serving as a catalyst for inclusion of non-hospital stakeholders as partners in achieving excellence in care and outcomes across the health care continuum. Coalitions work to address both statewide and region-specific patient safety initiatives.
