IHA’s Indiana Patient Safety Center (IPSC) continues to fight healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in all of their forms. In fact, eliminating HAIs is a CDC priority that the IPSC strives to achieve in Indiana. According to the
CDC’s Healthcare-Associated Infections Progress Report, Indiana hospitals have a lower standardized infection rate compared to the national baseline for many HAIs, while we hover near or slightly above the national average for catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) and surgical site infections (SSIs) related to colon surgery.
